Ruben credits his competition accomplishments to Cranford Judo & Karate Center (New Jersey) where he started Judo when he came from Cuba at age 12 and the devotion and knowledge of his Sensei Yoshisada Yonezuka. Till this day he claims that everything he has seen, he saw it at Cranford Judo & Karate Center in the 60's and 70's. Ruben Martin is now a National Level B Coach with credit all over the Jr. and Senior National Roster.

Sensei Ruben Martin has been involved in Judo for over 30 years as a competitor and is a International Gold Level Coach. He is an experienced martial arts instructor with programs at Montossori-Downtowns Playhouse Academy, Fort Worth City Center and had programs with Fort Worth Country Day School and Lockheed Martin Recreation Center. Many of Sensei Martin's students have gone on to compete at the National Level as scholarship recipients at universities and others at the Olympic Training Center vying for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Judo Team.
Sensei Martin's expertise is surpassed only by his genuine love and concern for his students' development. His gentle demeanor makes him equally popular with students, parents, and his peers in the Judo World. Sensei Ruben and wife Denise Martin invite you to join them at their Dojo. The Dojo is a 4,000 square-foot facility equipped with an over 1,500 square-foot mat area specially designed for the rigors of martial arts, a Universal machine, a Smith station, over 3,000 pounds of free weight, and a classroom with video equipment for viewing and evaluating skills and techniques.
